What is a Health Check (and what is it not)?

Our Health Check is not an audit, a penetration test, or a sales gimmick.
It is a practical, in-depth analysis of the existing IT environment, carried out by experienced engineers in collaboration with runZero, with one goal: to create insight and provide direction.

We combine:

• Technical scanning
• Physical observations on-site
• Substantive discussions with the customer

This creates a realistic picture of where the risks lie and where optimization is possible.

From what we see to what really matters

The Health Check focuses on three pillars:

1. Complete network and asset discovery

Using an advanced network scan, we map out all connected assets—including systems that are often “forgotten.”

We look at, among other things:

• Outdated or end-of-life systems
• Known vulnerabilities (CVEs)
• Unintended network bridges
• Basic configurations

We often discover systems that the customer did not know were active (anymore).

2. On-site physical audit

Not everything is visible digitally. That is why we also examine the physical infrastructure:

• Racks & cabling
• Network components
• Access point placement
• Unintended risks such as unmanaged switches or broadcasting devices

This results in a visually substantiated report with clear observations and recommendations.

3. Customer interview & gap analysis

Technology only tells half the story.
During targeted interviews, we assess the maturity of the IT and security approach.

We assess, among other things:

• Identity & access
• Endpoint, network, and applications
• Monitoring & response
• Compliance (such as NIS2)
• IT processes and management

The result is not a checklist, but a gap analysis:

What is there today, what is missing, and what are realistic next steps?
