Workshop training Start with Pulse Policy Secure

This is a one-day training with mostly hands-on installation of a virtual Pulse Policy Secure appliance.
The goal is to speed-up technical people to be able to install these products in a basic way. This is not an advanced course and is not an exam preparation. If you already have some experience with Pulse Secure, you might be able to fill some gaps or get some configuration tips.
Audience
This workshop is designed for technical people, both new and experienced, who want to start with Pulse Policy Secure or feel that they need to strengthen their knowledge.
Prerequisites
The trainee needs to have basic network knowledge. Experience is not needed. The trainee needs a virtual environment to deploy de virtual appliance.
Environment
The virtual appliance is installed in the local LAN and needs an IP here. Also, full admin on an AD is useful. You must have a switch per trainee that supports RADIUS client and CoA. The trainee needs to have knowledge how to configure the switch, this does not make part of the workshop!
Objective
As a basic training, you learn to understand the license concepts, for as far a techie needs to know this. Furthermore you
- Install a basic virtual appliance
- Where to find downloads a licenses
- Where to find help
- Learn where to position in the network
- Configure the network, date and time, …
- Change the device web certificate
- Link with Active Directory and LDAP servers
- Do Machine and User certificate authentication
- Configure an active/passive cluster
- Learn how to prepare for automatic client deployment
- Configure the profiler
- Configure policies based on the profiler
- Setup a Radius server
- Dynamic VLAN assignment
- MAC authentication
Methodology
This is a 1 day, classroom or remote training with mostly hands on configuration tasks. The better the preparation is done, the more we can configure. The trainer instructs the trainees how to do the configuration.
