11 Oct Hackathon NASA 2024
Three days and nights of intense work, passion, and space challenges in Stalowa Wola.
On October 6, 2024, the Kappa Data team arrived at High School No. 1 in Stalowa Wola, ready for the space challenge – the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2024 Hackathon. Over three days of intense work, often late into Sunday evening, we oversaw the network infrastructure, coordinating activities for more than 600 participants.
The event attracted developers, scientists, designers, and innovators who, in just 30 hours, were tasked with developing space-related projects using data provided by NASA. Participants faced a wide range of challenges, from programming applications to creating educational games and technological solutions.
During the Hackathon in Stalowa Wola, there were several attempts to attack the network infrastructure used at the event. However, all attempts were successfully neutralized thanks to the professional network management by our engineers, Marcin Piekarz and Kazimierz Jantas.
The event was covered by media outlets such as Security Magazine, PULS KOSMOSU, CarpatiaBiznes, and many others. Additionally, renowned experts, mentors, and judges were present on-site, offering valuable guidance to participants. The winners were awarded attractive prizes, and the best projects had the opportunity to be globally recognized by NASA.
The Hackathon was not only a chance to showcase technical skills but also a fantastic opportunity to make connections and collaborate on forward-thinking solutions. We witnessed true passion, commitment, and immense talent, which will be remembered for a long time!
